OpenAthens

What is OpenAthens?

OpenAthens is a single sign-on (SSO) authentication system that allows you to access PBSC's electronic library resources anywhere. While you can still sign on via Canvas or Workday, this will replace the previous login system of a borrower ID and pin for services such as databases, electronic journals, and e-books.

Once you authenticate (log in) via OpenAthens, your session will stay active for up to 8 hours, or until you clear your browser cache and cookies, or switch browsers. The authentication process can vary with resources.

Please note, almost all resources have migrated to OpenAthens. Permalinks and bookmarks linking to databases, eBooks, and articles need to be updated to avoid broken links. These may be located in your syllabus, courses, or personal collections.

If you need assistance updating these links, please contact: allenr@palmbeachstate.edu
