Definition of Homeless:
According to Florida §1009.25 9 (f), Florida law defines homelessness as, "A student who lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence or whose primary nighttime residence is a public or private shelter designed to provide temporary residence for individuals intended to be institutionalized, or a public or private place not designed for, or ordinarily used as, a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings."
Our campus administrators, faculty and staff support the issue of homelessness and our homeless students and community. Furthermore there is recognition that marginalized individuals are here and need, more, demand our advocacy.
Lake Worth PTLC, North Campus PTLC, and the Diversity Committee have made homelessness a central issue and and previously developed events around this.
