Headings

Headers are not necessary unless a professor requires them.  However, if you want to break your paper into different sections using APA Style you will have to learn to use headers.  APA uses headers to separate sections. You can think of these headers like an outline of a paper.  There is a main topic (header level 1) and subsequent subtopics (headers 2-5).
