Once you have found or built a persistent URL you can paste the URL into a Canvas page or other document. This is ideal when you would like all students to read a particular article or watch a video from a database.
-Locate the resource students need to access.
-Locate and copy the persistent URL (DO NOT USE THE LINK THAT APPEARS IN THE BROWSER'S ADDRESS BAR).
-Open the page, quiz, or discussion where you would like to insert the link to the Library resource.
Option 1
- In the Rich Text Editor, highlight the text that will serve as the link, then click on the "Links" icon. (If you click on the drop down arrow next to the "Links" icon, choose "External Links.")
- Enter the persistent URL from the article in the "Link" box.
- Click on "Done."
- Click on "Save."
Option 2
- Click the "Links" icon in the Rich Text Editor. (If you click on the drop down arrow next to the "Links" icon, choose "External Links.")
- Enter meaningful text in the "Text" box
- Paste the link in the 'Link" box
- Click "Done"
- Click "Save"
