Short Essay Assignment:

2-3 pages, typed, double spaced, 12 point font, 1 inch margins

MLA Style citations.

Short Story analysis: Choose one of the works assigned (by Alexie, Erdrich, Kincaid, Walker or Baldwin). Identify a style of criticism which may be useful in analyzing this work, and use that concept as the focus of your discussion.

Do not summarize the work, and use at least one outside source of literary criticism from the databases at the library. You must cite them, both in text and at the end on a works cited page. This is to be primarily an analysis/close reading focused on the work itself.
