Welcome to the Study of Psychology

Psychology is the "Science or study of the thought processes and behavior of humans and other animals in their interaction with the environment. Psychologists study processes of sense perception, thinking, learning, cognition, emotions and motivations, personality, abnormal behavior, interactions between individuals and interactions with the environment." (Colombia Encyclopedia)

We study psychology to learn about human thought and behavior. Study isn't limited to people who plan to work in the field; the knowledge of psychology is useful for people who work in business, criminal justice, the health professions, education ... just about any field that involves contact with others. We can also use psychology to understand ourselves and the people we interact with in our lives.
